
Celebrating the 35th year of Kaleidoscope Dance Theatre in 2025 and the New York Institute of Dance & Education in 2026, Sean McLeod, is a Black Multi-Award Winning Executive Producer, American Director, Composer, and Choreographer whose work spans over 40 years & 3 continents. He is founder of Reaching for Higher Ground Consulting, President, Kaleidoscope Dance Theatre; and Executive Producer of the Harriet Tubman Freedom Music Festival & New York Dance Festival at New York City Ballet, Lincoln Center. He served as a Think Tank member for the $125 Million Dollar Creatives Rebuild New York (CRNY), HueArts New York Advisory Committee, NYSCA Advisory Panel, NYFA Incubator for Arts & Culture Leaders of Color, is President of the National Parks Arts Foundation Advisory Committee, and was a contributor to the 2023 World Culture Festival that brought approximately 1.2 million people to the National Mall in Washington D.C.. He is President & CEO of the New York Institute of Dance & Education and developer of a Black-created dance technique with vocabularies that include; McLeod Technique, MT Afro Hip Hop, Training For Athletes, and Reinforced Motor Function®. McLeod recently presented a 4 year Critical Thinking in Natural & Physical Sciences Study, and is a 2025 New York State Dance Education Association Outstanding Leadership Award recipient. Sean has personally awarded over 400 thousand dollars to established and emerging artists. He works with Fortune 100 Business Leaders, At-Risk Populations, Economically Disadvantaged, Urban Communities, Women, and Youth, using performance and education to challenge the way minorities are seen in society. Presently, Sean is preparing for the 35th Gala at Lincoln Center, and working with Jazz Legend Wycliffe Gordon on new arrangements of "A Soundtrack for Harriet Tubman," a suite of songs he composed nearly 30 years ago to celebrate the ideals of freedom.
